Accounting & Tax

Accounting & Tax Management

Bookkeeping, accounting support and tax optimisation in the service of your performance: we make your accounts reliable and keep your filing obligations secure throughout the financial year.

Bookkeeping and accounting support

Whether you wish to fully outsource your accounting or be supported in-house, we keep your books in accordance with the Tunisian business accounting system (SCE) and produce reliable financial statements that are usable for steering the business.

We put in place the tools and procedures suited to your size so that you have up-to-date management information.

Tax filings and optimisation

We prepare and file your monthly tax returns (VAT, withholding taxes, stamp duty) and annual returns (corporate income tax, employer's declaration), making sure DGI deadlines are met.

Within the legal framework, we identify tax-optimisation levers — preferential regimes, investment incentives, deductible expenses — to reduce your tax burden in complete safety.

The filing calendar, month by month

The monthly return brings together VAT, withholding taxes, stamp duty and the levies assessed on turnover. It is filed in the month following the period concerned, on a date that differs for companies and for individuals.

Over the year come the corporate income tax instalments, the annual tax return with the financial statements, and the employer's return summarising remuneration and professional fees paid. We keep that calendar, prepare each return, and warn you before the deadline rather than after.

Withholding tax and the employer's return

Withholding tax is where we see the most reassessments: the wrong rate applied to a given code, professional fees paid to a supplier and left out of the year-end return, or a payment to a non-resident processed without reading the applicable double tax treaty.

We characterise each payment, apply the corresponding rate, and make sure the amounts withheld reconcile to the employer's return. Fees declared late can be added back to taxable profit: consistency between the two returns is not a formality.

Electronic invoicing and digital compliance

Electronic invoicing through the national platform imposes a standardised format and its own validation cycle. An invoice that is rejected or left in an intermediate state gives your customer no right to deduct, even though the service was genuinely delivered.

We check the consistency between the invoices you issue, your accounting records and your returns, and support you in bringing your invoicing chain into compliance.

Frequently asked questions

Do you handle VAT returns and the annual tax pack?

Yes. We handle all monthly filings (VAT, withholding taxes) and annual filings, including corporate income tax and the employer's declaration, in compliance with statutory deadlines.

What is the corporate income tax rate in Tunisia?

The standard rate has been 20% since the 2024 financial year. Specific rates, lower or higher, apply to certain sectors — activities benefiting from incentives, financial services, telecommunications and hydrocarbons in particular. A minimum tax remains due in some situations.

What VAT rates apply?

Tunisia applies a standard rate and two reduced rates depending on the nature of the good or service. Some transactions are exempt or outside the scope, which can restrict your right to deduct input VAT.

What is the VAT deduction pro rata?

Where a business carries out both transactions giving a right to deduct and transactions that do not, input VAT on mixed purchases is deductible only in proportion. The essential rule is that direct allocation of costs comes before the pro rata: only goods and services that cannot be allocated are subject to it.

Should I outsource accounting or keep an in-house team?

Both work and we do both. Full outsourcing suits organisations that want a predictable fixed cost; supporting an in-house team makes sense once volume justifies a resident accountant. We then act on supervision, review and year-end closing.
